I have never done a Remix before. However, while I was browsing the M Audio website I noticed an ad for a Public Enemy Remix Contest and read the rules. After down-loading the a capella version of “Harder Than You Think” I used Logic, Torq and my xponent to create a remix version of the Public Enemy Track.
While I understand my chances of winning the $4500 M Audio Home Music Studio are slim to none, it was a fun exercise regardless. The winner is announced in October. Here is what I came up with:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 6 or above) is required to play this audio clip. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

As you may or may not know the White Party was picked up by our friends at the Tulsa Zoo. After a year hiatus, I had a fortuitous run in with a Jodi Koch who does marketing for the Tulsa Zoo. We talked about my White Party and she enthusiastically asked me to come out the zoo and discuss the possibility of having it at the Zoo and using it as a way to raise money for the Tulsa Zoo Friends, the non profit that fuels the Zoo financially.

After a successful meeting with Jodi and Keeley Mead, Ashley Farthing, Lindsay Anderson and others we decided that it was a good fit and pushed everything forward. Well, three months later and the date is upon us! Next Friday September 05 the Tulsa Zoo will be “drenched in White” as the fourth edition of the White Party grows up a little bit.
The Zoo has done it right, sparing no expense to make this the most lavish, hip and over the top event Tulsa has seen in . . . lets put it this way - Tulsa has never seen an event like this.
I just had the chance to edit up a bunch of video from White Party III. Here are some links to White Party Stuff:

This past weekend the bulk of my dads side of the family got together at my Mom’s families lake house on Lake Eufaula. My dads parents, whom I have lovingly referred to as Mama and Papa since I was a little baby are named Robert Winston Cocke and Thelma Ann Cocke hailing from Wilburton Oklahoma. They have 4 sons: My vegan, meditating, tea-totaling father, Robert Winston Cox (Norman) Their homosexual, Native American, “two spirited” son John Hawke Co-cke (Tulsa) Their burly, masculine, cigar smoking, jolly son Will Eugene Cocke (Wilburton) and The youngest, laid back, cooler than cool, everybody loves him son Charles Wesley Cox (Dallas).
The four brothers don’t all share the same name because Robert and Charles had their name legally changed from Cocke to Cox years ago for obvious reasons. So that is correct, had my father not changed his name back in the day, my full legal name would be Wesley Winston Cocke. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Papa Rober has a sister named Anna Doris Pirtle who has three children of her own my fathers and uncles cousins: Janna, Jaime and Jay.
All of my dads brothers and cousins and their children where at the lake except for Will. When they get together it gets pretty loud, crazy and insanely funny. They are all such unique charachters and all have such strong personalities that the entire time spent with my dads side of the family is nothing but non stop laugh out loud funny.
